This Fandom is Like A Broken Record, Singing a Different Variation of the Same Tune Every Day

So, a lot of people seem unhappy that Naya’s apparently “changed”… And as I always say, people are entitled to their opinion, and I’m not telling said people that what you’re feeling is wrong, coz you can’t help how you feel & that’s fair enough, and you don’t have to like it, but of course she’s changed! Everyone changes with time. Her life experiences have shaped who she is now, as they do everyone else! No ones’s the same person they were 3 years ago! And it’s unfair to expect her to be. We grow up, we meet new people, we face new obstacles, and we achieve new things, and all that plays a part in who we become. It’s impossible to stay the same forever, and quite frankly, in MY opinion, anyone who expects Naya to, is kind of selfish. And I’m not here preaching, thinking I’m wonderful, I know I’ve definitely changed, and not all for the better either, and I’m also not saying you have to agree with what I’m saying, or think my opinion is right, if you don’t, that’s totally fine too. Yes, Naya to a degree, because she’s a celebrity, is in a way, public property, but she’s also a person, and you can’t hold her on this pedestal forever. I’m not saying you have to support her decisions, and I’m not saying you have to like how she’s changed. But take a good long look in the mirror, and tell me you haven’t changed in any way even in the last few months? And if you don’t think you have, well I’m glad you think you’re so perfect that it’s your god-given right to judge someone else for not being who you want them to be. Give the girl a break, if what she does in her personal life bothers you THAT much, well, that’s more on you then it is on her.
Now, on the whole, I am very fond of this fandom, and usually avoid giving an opinion on anything really, because the majority of this fandom seems to respect when I have an opinion, much like I do them. But seeing this constant nit picking, and whining, and arguing, every time she makes a public appearance, or a new picture surfaces, is taking the fun out of it for the whole fandom. You don’t like her anymore? Fine. No one’s forcing you to troll the Naya tag, or follow her on twitter, or Instagram, you are free to hit the unfollow button. So really, complaining about the same thing every day is getting pretty old, pretty fast, and is accomplishing nothing besides taking the fun out it all for those who really just don’t care either way, and are just happy to live in our Naya Rivera bubble of bliss. If you wanna leave the fandom, just leave, no need to make a song and dance about it, no need to try and convince others that you’re right. If you think you’re right, that should be enough verification for you, you shouldn’t need justification from everyone else. But some of us genuinely aren’t bothered about her personal life, and enjoy her in interviews and pictures, and on twitter, so it’d be really nice if people just let those that still enjoy it all, enjoy it, instead of clogging up twitter and tumblr feeds with constant negativity. It’s exhausting to look at. Regardless of the topic, when every single tweet or tumblr post a person puts out into the world is hateful, or negative, it just brings people down. Don’t like what you perceive as “the new Naya”? Then why not try posting something positive from your own life, rather than focusing on being such a downer all the time about someone else’s?
